When the human soul was created, it was equally infused with a multitude of self-contained capabilities and attributes; including love, wisdom, knowledge, compassion; and numerous other benign qualities. Though the soul was endowed with such a wealthy spectrum of capabilities and attributes, these simply remained as potentials or latent capabilities. A potential or latent capability is a quality, ability or possibility, which is in existence; but that has not yet unfolded or manifested to its maximum possible degree; or which has not yet been developed to the fullest extent of maturity. For instance, though an egg contains within itself the potential to be transformed into a matured chicken, the egg still requires to be incubated, hatched; and the resultant offspring subjected to the appropriate level of nurture. It’s only then that the egg can realise its inherent potential; by metamorphosing into a matured chicken. Thus, though the soul was endowed with such an impressive plethora of fascinating capabilities and attributes, the soul still needed to be subjected to conducive circumstances, which would adequately trigger and sustain the development and ultimate maturation of the soul’s latent capabilities and attributes. As a matter of fact, not all the latent capabilities and attributes of the soul could be developed and fully maturated through its exposure to just a single type of circumstance. This implies that a certain set of the soul’s capabilities and attributes could be developed by its exposure to certain circumstances; while other capabilities and attributes could only be developed by the soul’s exposure to entirely different circumstances. Consequently, for the soul to develop all its capabilities and attributes to the fullest possible extent, it needed to be exposed to various circumstances; each corresponding to the development and maturation of a specific set of the soul’s capabilities and attributes. Hence, the process by which the soul sets about the systematic development and ultimate maturation of all its latent capabilities and attributes is known as evolution. As a matter of fact, evolution of the soul is not conducted in a wholesale manner, but on a step-by-step basis. Each step of the evolution of the soul involves the development and maturation of certain latent capabilities and attributes. Once that is fully achieved, the soul then proceeds to the next step of evolution, whose circumstances entirely differ from those of the first step; and which are capable of bringing about the development and ultimate maturation of a different set of the soul’s latent capabilities and attributes. This process continues until all the latent capabilities and attributes of the soul are developed to the fullest degree of maturity. This then concludes the complex process of the soul’s evolution. Such a soul is then known as a mature soul; because it has realised the fullest degree of all its latent capabilities and attributes. Such a soul becomes very powerful, capable of rendering service in various planets; in a scale and scope that immature souls can never ever begin to dream of. The entire process of the evolution of the soul comprises three stages. The first of these stages is the soul’s exposure to the circumstances in this physical world; to enable it develop the capabilities and attributes that are related to physical energy and physical factors. The second stage of the soul’s evolution is its exposure to emotional energy on the astral world; to enable it develop the corresponding capabilities and attributes. The third stage in the evolution of the soul is it’s exposure to mental energy, to enable it develop the corresponding capabilities and attributes. Finally, the soul surfaces onto its native purely spiritual territory.
